I think since the beginning of the internet, shoppers have been irritated with the cost of shipping. More often than not, that irritation was directed at the retailer. The domestic carriers have done a good job of insulating themselves from the actual paying customer and have deflected any type of pricing argument back at companies like us. UPS likes to claim that the charge you see on our website may not reflect actual charges levied by UPS. They don't. We lose money on every box we ship. And I still get nasty emails about the ridiculous cost of shipping. I really don't blame you. It's pretty out of hand when it costs more than $10 to ship a 2 pound box locally.
I started thinking that if we lose money on shipping and our customers are irritated, why not lose a little more money and make them happy?
So in the spirit of happy shopping, we have decided to implement a flat rate shipping policy. Ground shipping is now only $6.99 within the lower 48 no matter how full you make the box. Go ahead, fill your cart. Order by the gallon. $6.99 is all you will pay for shipping. Happy shopping!
